Pickleball open play apps compared

Other apps checked on October 25, 2026

Several apps help run pickleball open play, and they solve different problems: some fill courts, some take sign-ups and payments. Here’s what each one does, from their own listings, so you can pick the right one for your night. Something changed? Tell us and we’ll update this page.

Dinkmix

Free, in the browser, nothing to install for anyone. Players scan a QR code and join the line; the app picks every game for fair turns and new partners, by level, and nobody gets stuck waiting. A TV board shows courts and the next games. Formats: fair rotation, winners vs winners, a challenge court, singles. The organizer can drag players into any game, link partners and undo mistakes. After the night: a leaderboard, a podium and shareable cards. Up to 12 courts per event. No DUPR integration.

PickleQ

A browser-based platform for clubs and recreation centers. Players check in with a reusable QR code or a kiosk and follow the queue, their matches and standings on their phones. Matches weigh skill balance, waiting time and partner variety. A paid Venue Pro plan adds DUPR match reporting. A good fit for venues that report to DUPR.

Picklr Lab

An iPhone and iPad app with several matching modes, including skill-separated queues, mixed doubles and first come first served. Players can scan to join, and it syncs across devices and works offline. Lists DUPR ratings and matchmaking. The free tier covers up to 20 players on one court.

CourtQueue

A one-time purchase for iPad and iPhone that runs entirely on one device: no account, no cloud. Balanced, Mexican round robin, random and manual rotations for 1 to 4 courts, with the next players on the Lock Screen. Players don’t check in themselves; the organizer enters everyone. Good for a single organizer with one iPad.

Reclub

The app many Philippine groups use to list open plays, take RSVPs and payments, and run waitlists, plus round robins, leagues and brackets. It isn’t a live court rotation tool: some Reclub listings describe paddle stacking or paddle baskets for the night itself. Reclub for sign-ups and Dinkmix for the courts work well together.

How to choose

  • Want everyone on their own phone, any device, free: Dinkmix or PickleQ.
  • Reporting matches to DUPR: PickleQ (paid) or Picklr Lab.
  • One organizer, one iPad, no internet: CourtQueue.
  • Sign-ups and payments before the night: Reclub, with a rotation app on court.

Create an open play (free, no sign-up) or try a demo with dummy players first.
